Jeppesen Marine is a provider of global navigational
service designed to meet the needs of merchant marine
vessels operating worldwide. Jeppesen Marine's primary goal
is to provide navigators around the world with all nautical
information necessary for safe navigation, and its strategy
is based on co-operation with national Hydrographic Offices
and the support of ECDIS and ECS manufacturers and end
users.
Jeppesen Norway AS, previously C-MAP Norway AS, was
established in Egersund in 1993 and has global
responsibility within the concern for the development and
distribution of digital nautical charts and nautical
information to the professional end users in the fields of
international shipping, offshore and fishing. Jeppesen
Norway AS has 50 employees located in Fiskarvik Maritime
Senter on Eigerøy.
Manager – Global Navigation Services (GNS)

The Positions Holder will manage the globally integrated GNS
Marine team, tasked with Product Compilation, Product
Finalization, Media Duplication, Product Distribution and
Logistics, for our Light Marine and Commercial Navigation
customers. The global team is divided into the Light Marine
teams located in Italy (currently 5 employees) and the
US (currently 1 employee), as well as the Commercial
Navigation team located in Norway (currently 5 employees).
The function is responsible and
accountable for ensuring the consistent provision of global
navigation information products to Jeppesen customers
worldwide, and achieving operational results which meet or
exceed customer expectations, while improving quality and
overall operational performance.
The Position Holder ensures the continued
development, recognition and mobilization of the global GNS
staff reporting to him/her. He/she effectively and
proactively communicates with peers, customers, staff and
suppliers regarding vision, strategy, operational and
cultural expectations and operational performance. He/she is
responsible for defining departmental execution strategy and
organization. He/she also contributes to the GNS Marine long
range business plan and operational budget and ensures
operational efficiency by exploring and using Jeppesen
synergies and implementation of global best practices.
The positon manages subordinate staff with
tasks such as recruiting, training, performance management,
motivate, delegate and monitoring results.
The Successful candidate will
have:
- Experience in successfully managing
and motivating complex teams in an operational
environment.
- Knowledge in the basic principles of
developing and motivating employees.
- Record of successful project
execution.
- Ability to fluently communicate in
English language in writing and speaking.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Desired qualities would be:
- Experience in the Marine Navigation
or Marine Industry environment
- Experience in Data management and data
delivery/distribution environment.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (such as
ISO 9001).
- A second language (Russian, Italian, German).
